That pitcher shot
Roosevelt's comeback victory 5-4 was a great way to start my 2009 high school baseball coverage. I've seen a few renditions of a pitcher photograph where the ball is in focus and the pitcher is out of focus in the background. I attempted that photo during today's game - the hardest part was composing the pitcher in the background after getting the focus. Nice win Roosevelt!

Shallow victory & defeat
Texas Class 2A regional semi-final Shallowater vs Wall.
Texas Class 2A regional championship Shallowater vs Bowie.
Shallowater's girls basketball team competed in the Texas class 2A regional semi-finals and championship this past weekend in Midland. From my perspective, they played 7 great quarters and 1 lousy one. Unfortunately for them, their lousy quarter came at the beginning of the championship game against Bowie. In the fourth quarter they cut their 22 point half-time deficit to 10, but in the end they didn't have enough in the tank to pull off the comeback.
