2009 AT&T Cotton Bowl

DALLAS – Player after Texas Tech player said the Red Raiders were excited to be at the Cotton Bowl. True or not, it didn’t make them perform any better.

Spotted a two-touchdown lead in the first quarter, No. 7 Tech folded and lost to No. 25 Mississippi 47-34 Friday before a record crowd of 88,175 on a warm, sunny afternoon. For a program accustomed to postseason wins under Mike Leach, it was the most lackluster bowl showing since 2000 in Houston.
