Retiree Dale Gober fills a shopping cart with bags of rice during his volunteer shift at the South Plains Food Bank. Gober volunteers at South Plains Food Bank several hours a week. Gober farmed for 30 years and then operated an irrigation repair business for several years before retiring in 2008. He said he misses some aspects of running a farm, but not the daily pressures.
